:iconromanlaplz: Hi pplz! Here's the GIMP tut I've been promising! This one is a look at all 33 of the tools available in the GIMP's interface :boogie: The next tut will be on how to make super lazy lineart, and directly following that, a coloring tutorial specific to people who are used to coloring in MS Paint and are not familiar to working with layers (basically kind of like cell shading =D)

Hi, I also have GIMP and I've been trying to figure out how to use the paths tool but it's really frustrating and confusing. Could you help me?

the paths tool is similar to drawing paths in illustrator or photoshop, the only difference is that it's not vector, so you don't need to worry about closing shapes. All you have to do is outline whatever line art you're making, or draw whatever image you want with the tool, then when you're done, choose the line weight and click stroke, and it automatically fills the lines you drew in :D

I tried that and I've been trying to follow a tutorial I found in GIMPies but it doesn't seem to work after I click "stroke". And it's still pretty confusing.

You have selected a line weight before clicking stroke right?

OwO a line weight?
Oh & I got the line to show up, but it's still really confusing on how to make a curve.

When you draw the line at the end there should be an anchor that you can move that curves the line :)

I know, but usually my lines end up....weird. -.- Thanks anyway, I'm probably annoying you so I'll try to figure it out myself. ~3~

an alternative to this is using the "smooth stroke" setting on the brush tool. It looks like the paths tool when you use it :)

circle fuzzy brush is a sub-tool that can be accessed by either the pencil or paintbrush tool.
